Lo, Coach, myself and some of the softball team hit the streets early Saturday morning to show support and raise some funds for the Susan G. Komen foundation.
5 K = 3.10685596 miles
I could not get ONE picture with everyone at the same time.....
My motto is:
"I don't run unless someone is chasing me with a knife."
Lucky for me, no knife wielders were behind me.
There were about 9,000 participants...how awesome is that???
Then we headed to downtown Naples to see Linds walk in the St. Patrick's day parade with her girl scout troop.
It was HOT.
Lo and Coach had to check email/texts while waiting....
Did I mention it was hot????
Still a gorgeous day though...we were only a block from the Gulf Of Mexico.
You would think that the child would at least look at me when I am aiming a camera AT her.....
Linds is on the far left holding the banner...green hair and all.
We made it home just in time for me to shower and have a nap.
A perfect Saturday.
I hope everyone has a great weekend as well. Anything exciting to share?????
What a gorgeous day. I sure am glad I don't have to post mine and Nalley's legs - the stark whiteness would be blinding!
ReplyDeleteWe are going to try to watch the launch ONE MORE TIME. Hoping it isn't postponed again. Other than that it has been a relaxing and lazy weekend. Glad y'all had a good time!!
ReplyDeleteFun and sun and a parade! ....much better than here! And for a good cause!
ReplyDeleteLast year I ran the 5K for our Hometown Days and almost died...that was when I vowed never to be that out of shape again. So then I ran a 1/2 marathon....and have 2 more coming up this year...and since I move into a new age group soon I just may place in our Hometown Days run!
Happy Saturday!
What a fantastic day!!
ReplyDeleteWhat a great way to spend the weekend...such a worthy cause and with family participation. Bless you and your family!
ReplyDeleteHow awesome that you guys did the walk!! You rock!
ReplyDeleteI'm sooo glad I'm not sweating in that Florida sun! It's in the 50s here today, which is plenty warm for me. I was actually getting really annoyed in the car because the damn sun was burning my arm while I was driving! >:(
It sounds (and looks) as if you had a great Saturday. Our excitement was getting back home from Arkansas safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteWhat a fun day for a great cause. It's barely crept into the 50's here and it's dark and dreary. Sounds like you had a wonderful day. : )
ReplyDeleteSuch a great way to spend a weekend. You might be able to catch a skate a thon up here...no walking in this weather!
ReplyDeleteWow, looks like a warm beautiful day!!
ReplyDeleteUm, nothing too exciting here... oh, wait. I think we bought a house :-D
Hey Girlie, Did you miss me???? We're home---and had a great time (although it's always nice to be home)...
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your run/walk on a beautiful day.
I've met HappyWife---so she can tell me all about your when you lived in Hotlanta!!!! ha ha
Hugs,
Betsy
What a wonderful day for the walk and the parade. Looks like a lot of fun.
ReplyDeleteYou are awesome!
ReplyDeleteMy friend told her 13 year old she could have blue hair if she promised to stop bugging her about getting two holes in each ear. I told her, 'let her do both, she'll probably be the CEO of a company in two years anyway b/c don't a lot of them look like that now?"
ReplyDeleteExercise, a parade, warm sun all sound good to me! (I used to run - but now I walk. Common sense took hold of me.)
ReplyDeleteI love your motto and I love your hairy legs.
ReplyDeleteJealous Jealous Jealous that's what I am! The Walk is Awesome. And I love hot weather, which bythe way I don't think is hot. I spent Saturday at the mall with 2 teenagers buying everything in sight and nothing on sale because spring is 300 years away BUT they are going to Disneyworld with the Band and need summer clothes for next week. Yes I am jealous. Meanwhile it's 40 and rainy and I spent my sunday on a rainy rugby pitch freezing my butt off and cheering the boys on to victory!
ReplyDeletecongrats, suz. it is a noble feat to participate in stuff like this. i do when i can, too.
ReplyDeleteC
Definitely looked like a good weekend to get out and get some exercise in and all for a great cause.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful day, beautiful pictures, and a beautiful cause!
ReplyDeleteWe had rain and 43 degrees this weekend! I would have GLADLY traded! :)
