Brangelina

A photo I found recently while reading New York Times People Magazine.
Here is Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie w/ one of the babies leaving a grocery store.
Surely you can see what I see.....

I know they are working hard to build a new green community in the ravaged New Orleans area.
I know they are saving all the orphans, one baby at a time.

But for the love of all that is NOT plastic in the world could you remember your shopping bags?

I hate to pick sides, but I am totally on Team Jennifer.

  2. Ha! I knew Brad and Angelina were wasteful! LOL!
    I'm team jennifer too....

I think the create a link thing is so people can let you know they stopped by (but they didn't feel like leaving an ACTUAL comment.) Also - free publicity. :)

  3. That's TOTALLY how I dress when I go to Walmart. Um. not.

I don't understand the linky thing. Does it mean somebody linked to you in a post of theirs? Maybe one of your wonderful and brilliant commenters can help a girl out. : )

  4. I'm not fans of theirs but maybe they shop at walmart and return those bags each visit. Walmart has a huge green bin to put your plastic in for recycling. NOT that I would take advantage of it.

The link thing? I hope you get an answer because I get several, and one in particulart every time they post on their site.

  5. Agree on Brangelina, practice what you preach people!!! My favorite comment of theirs to this date has been "we will get married when everyone in the country is free to do so"...something along those lines and I thought, who gives a crap, neither of you value the sanctity of marriage anyway.

    No idea on the link.

  6. I am curious about the link thing too.

Like Sandy Toes, I' surprised LA has plastic bags and yeah, that's how I dress when buying groceries too! HA

  7. When you figure out that link thing, let me know. It bugs the bejeezus out of me, too.

Shame on the pretty plastic peoople for using plastic bags.

  8. I'm sure their publicist will have a very good
    explanation to this shortly.
Hey have you considered working for TMZ? ha.

  9. I totally had to do the 'create a link' thing just to see what it did. It just created a post on my blog with a link to your entry. Maybe it's good for those days when you just don't have anything to say and so you let your peeps do the writing!

  10. I think the link thing is for you to create links to similar posts of your own. I think.

  11. I think it must be hard to recycle bags or reuse bags when you move around as much as they do. Sometimes I forget and end up with a plastic bag. I use them to clean the cat boxes. Is that wrong?

  12. I hate those plastic bags. They rip and they DON'T break down in the trash pits for like a hundred years.

I think the linky things are either trackbacks or backlinks depending on the type of system one uses,i.e. typepad, blogger, etc. I'm not sure exactly how they work.

  13. You get rid of that link access by going into your Settings, then the basic, scroll down until you see "links" yes or no, click on no :)

  14. And they probably drove some gas-guzzling car to get there....

  15. Yes, I do see the plastic bags!

Last summer I was downtown, I purchased a lemonade that came in a glass bottle. I was on foot and yes, was to lazy to carry the bottle away so I threw it in the barrel. This woman stopped and looked at me and said you really should recycle, I looked at her and her 7 kids in tow...(all hers, I've seen the kids with her hubbie) and said "And when do you plan on starting to worry about our planet?" she replied " I am concerned obviously" I replied listen nosey rosey get the facts, it is humans who fill the earth with waste and the more kids you have the more you contribute to filling this earth with waste.....do your homework and in the future mind your own business.

I recycle everything, every other week when they come to collect the recycle barrels I have 4 of them on my curb.

I have always been on Team Jen...hey Angela has an army of men on her side so we woman have to stick by Jen. Speaking of Jen I just saw Marley and Me....it was alright, cute and somewhat realistic!
Off to foodshop with my own green bags..!!!!

  16. Well, now that you've cleared up the linky thingy we can get on with more important things in life. I'm with you, I kinda tend to take Jenn's side in this one. I don't like Jolie. There's just something about her .......!

  17. I have to admit that I often (and by often I mean always) get the grocery stores plastic bags. INSERT CURSE OR INSULTS HERE. I do recycle them, to an extent because I use them as poop bags when walking the mutts and as our bathroom trash can liners. Does that count for anything or am I the devil?

  18. wow, quite the "catty" bunch of commenters here. i hate it when i forget my reusable bags. i could care less about the rich and notorious, and i equally hate shopping at walmart, however i have some things i get there because the price is lower there than elsewhere. it is infuriating when walmart (aka china) is cheaper than the DAV for kids clothes. but until i get a job that pays what walmart executives are making i cannot afford anything else. and to think of Sam Walton turning in his grave right now if he saw what his kids did to his store. When he was alive there was nothing but American made in there now it is all China baby. Woo- Hoo to greedy kids!! be careful who you will your estate to lest your wishes not be carried out!!

  19. I guess I'm going to be on your 'bad' list --since we still use plastic bags. Sorry Girlfriend---but we do use them in our yard constantly --while weeding, etc. They are just the perfect size.. We DO do so many other things to help the planet ---many, many---so please forgive me!!!!! Sorry!

I do NOT like lurkers on my blog. If someone can't bother to leave a comment saying that they have been there, WELL---they need to go on to someone else's blog. JMHO.... ha

I've never had that link thing on my blog--thank goodness.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  20. I could have sworn I read somewhere recently that Brangelina was pregnant with twins - yet she's thin as a twig in that photo. what gives?

  21. I admit that whenever we go to the grocery store they will always hand us with plastic bags.

    greetings...

  22. They probably have a bit 24 pack of bottled water underneath those bags, too. As if they weren't outrageous enough.

  23. Oh I am a team Jennifer.

Love this post pointing out that the "perfect Angelina" (read sarcasticly) has made a mistake!
    Gasp

  25. I'm on Team Jennifer, too. Angelina looks like she would be smelly to me for some reason.

  26. In China you have to pay for plastic bags, they're not free. And they make wonderful large reusable sacks with nice handles that are very inexpensive. I think it's a great system they have, it really encourages reusable bags.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Well I use the plastic at times because I use them for so many other things but I really do try to recycle and to lots of other "green things". I am also in the Jennifer team.

  28. Thanks for stopping by my VLOG. I love my resusable trader joes bags and bring them everywhere.

I do, however, miss toilets with sufficient flushing water.

    Just sayin' ;)

  29. I was surprised that they even went to Wal-Mart!

  30. Oh my stars! That cracked me up! So glad you called them on that. They can give millions, but they can't make that bag decompose.
