People who have the most birthdays live the longest.
And by *someone,* I mean me. And by old, I mean, just a little old.
Here is something that I noticed about 8 years ago…I can’t remember how old I am. seriously. Even on my actual birthday, I have to really think. Thinking is not my favorite sport.
So, what I do on occasion is, remind myself that I am only one or two years younger than the coach. But the problem is, I can’t always remember how old he is either. I should write these things down.
But I have it correct today. Today I am 35 42. The coach is 37 43. But next month, he will be 44. See why this is hard for me? No? Ok, I just have issues with numbers. But anyhoo, happy birthday to me.
I would like to take this special occasion to thank my Mom for going through with the whole birthing part. That is not fun. And I don’t care if you were on speed and smoked a carton pack of cigarettes while in labor. *cough cough* That is how they did things back then.
But really Mom, thank you not leaving me on the stoop of a church. Well, actually the stoop of a church would have been ok, had it been in a nice neighborhood I would have had a 50/50 chance of having a normal family. Whereas the family I got was surely dysfunctional perfectly wonderful . Now, If you had left me by the back door of Millers Super Value Grocery store I could have been a tragic mess, instead of the perfectly crazy silly person I am today.
Thanks Mom for keeping me. I heart you. It took a lot of courage on your part, and look at your constant reward: Me.
Oh, and as an afterthought, who’s idea was it for us to pose in front of the crazy curtains with our printed dresses? This is so wrong…
Happy Birthday!! Just pick a random age and always say that's how old you are - you'll never forgot again. My Dad has claimed 19!!
ReplyDeleteforget about the math... it is just not worth it! but YOU... well, let's just say that without your quirky sense of humor and your uniquely lovely personality, days would not be as bright. they just wouldn't. happy birthday!!
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday dear friend!! hilarious post!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday!!
ReplyDeleteWow, you are still looking like one hot mama, no matter what your age :)
"Thinking is not my favorite sport."

ReplyDeleteI recently found a bunch of pics of me in those lovely pantsuit kinda things. My daughter has a cow when she sees them. But she will have a cow when she gets old and sees herself at her current age, she just doesn't know it yet! LOL
Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthday to you!

ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to you, sweet Suz! The world is definitely a much better place with you in it. I'm thankful that you were born!
ReplyDeleteI hope your day is perfectly wonderful, and filled with the love of family, friends and bloggers. I will try to do something especially GREEN in your honor today. XO
A very happy birthday wish Suzanne! Your posts always brighten my day and put a smile on my face! I really "dig" those curtains; perhaps they are tucked away in a cedar chest somewhere and you can make Lo and Linds matching dresses??? Enjoy your special day dear friend. I hope your Grandmother is doing well - wonderful that she got to go home!
ReplyDeleteYes..BBsuz..
ReplyDeleteHAPPY BIRTHDAY to You!
..my son always divulged his dad's correct age and said mine was 29..
as he crept closer, he decided I was just too young to have a son THAT old..
so then I became 39..
and when he reached 39..well..
according to him, mom is now just the perfect age..
as age is just a state of mind!
♥ have a beautiful day!
Happy Happy Birthday! Hope your Coach spoils you rotten:)
ReplyDeletehappy birthday to you!!!!! birthday's are great cuz generally the family lets ya do whatever ya want! lol

happy birthday, suz... i hope your day is filled with all of the love you deserve.
ReplyDeleteand that you get prezzies, too.
nice ones.
insanely unexpected great ones.
may your hubby give you a loooooooong foot massage and may the girls clean the whole house for you.
those are nice prezzies too...
about the age thing, it doesnt REALLY matter cuz what you feel you are inside is all that matters. look at moi, i am 109, but i feel like i am only 29 so voila, thats MY age.
29.
yeaaahhh right. and pigs don't fly.
well i guess they could if they wanted too.
theres no law against it, is there?
they would get a discount for the flight too being they are swine and all.
i think swines get cheaper seats if i remember correctly. as long as they dont have the flu, that is...
anyhoo-
happy happy birthday suzzzzzzzzzanne!
i too am so glad your mama didnt leave you somewhere.
would you thank her for me?
thanks.
but i agree, those dresses in front of those curtains..... she should be ashamed!
c
Happy birthday, Suz. We're also very glad that your Mom decided to keep you. Your posts wouldn't be nearly as interesting if you had been left at Miller's Super Value Grocery store.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday, my dear sweet Bloggy Buddy!!!!! And, I say, 21 forever!!
ReplyDeleteI'm totally with you on this, by the way. I seriously have to stop and think about what year I was born, and then do the math almost every freakin' time someone asks how old I am!
Happy Birthday!! You were definitely smokin' in that bikini!
ReplyDeleteSuzanne, I had no idea it was your birthday... Hope you had a wonderful day. Your mother has to be VERY proud of her daughter.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday. Hope you had a wonderful day. Hope that sweet family did something really special for you.

ReplyDeleteOh goodness. Congrats!
Happy Belated Birthday!! I tried to send you good tidings of great joy on FB yesterday - it kicked me off of your site. I tried to get onto your Blog yesterday - it wouldn't let me leave a message. SO, I am showing up a day late, and wondering why the heck you blocked me on your birthday! Hey, I'm a year older than you are. I should have been welcomed in with open arms!!! It's tough being 35;)
ReplyDeleteHere's to many more blissful birthdays! Cheers!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SUZ!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm a date late, but Happy Birthday! I hope it was wonderful.
ReplyDeleteThat picture is so much like pictures in my family album. What's with those curtains, anyway? :D
Happy Belated Birthday, Suz.
ReplyDeleteIt was the 70's--the photographer was probably tripping so it all looked fine through his viewfinder!
You were so adorable it borders on ridiculous. Cindy Brady WHAT? : ) Sweet and sensational : ) You are young. I, on the other hand, ringing in at FREAKING 33 am old because my child bearing years are slipping away and Gary doesn't mind watching them slip........................
ReplyDeleteWould you like to produce a girl and send it to me? Great. Please make it half black. I have a fondness for black people : )
That could sound wierd if you didn't really know me : ) Thankfully you do!
ReplyDeleteCute pics of you, especially the little you in the bikini.
