TGIF and Happy Independence Ya’ll!

I have been a neglectful blogger and half heartedly posted a few items this week, but really my heart was not in it at all. I am sorry. Please forgive….

I have been a busy bee. Lo will have her 16th birthday next weekend and I am a-buzz with projects. I usually do things better last minute…hence the busyness.

She has spent the week with her Grandparents and opened up some opportune time to get things done…I will show them to you possibly later; alligator.

One thing I was working on required photos. I have used Shutterfly for years…I just love their website and it takes but a few days and my picture arrive in the mail.

In this case, I needed some asap, so I ordered them through shutterfly but was picking them up at Target.

I had to download them first into picnik.com for grand editing, then save to my pc, then download back to shutterfly…all sounds easy right? well, never for ME. 4 times I got them to my cart in shutterfly and 4 times I got an “error on page.”

I was gritting my teeth. Stomping my feet. Thinking of cussing. (Ok, possibly I cussed, but no one except the animals heard me) Reaching for ice cream pops (at 9 am) The dogs and Linds had thought I was losing my mind…cause I was.

Finally on the 5th try, it worked. An hour later.

I ran to Target while out yesterday and they had my pictures just like I expected. What I did NOT expect was the amount of pictures. 131 pictures to be exact. YOWZA.

I ONLY wanted 26.

Each time I was getting an error, it I was actually ORDERING the pics.

Luckily the girl in the photo dept felt sorry for me and only charged me for the ones I wanted. I think she felt some pity for me when my chin hit the floor at the sight of 131 pictures and I was on the verge of tears or murder. Always some excitement here for me, right????

We are going to have a nice weekend with the Coach’s side of the family. Looking forward to some laughing, eating and pure merriment. Have I mentioned before how I LOVE my inlaws??? They are the BOMB!

Coach’s Mom is going to teach me how to make deviled eggs…yes, I am 41 and have never made them. I am sure you are stunned knowing what a domestic devil I am already and I have not made them yet....I can eat the heck out of them, now I will know how to make them too! (eating is so much better than making)

DSCN1420 Here is a picture of some weird kids at the July 4th parade 2 summers ago…strange huh?

I share DNA with 2 of them…hence the weirdness.

Happy Fourth of July weekend. Be safe. Remember NOT to stick your face or fingers near lit fireworks…that will not produce a good outcome. Really.

I wish for you all a weekend with family, friends and lots of good food.

Avoid spoiled eggs and hair fires!!!

AMERICA ROCKS!!!!!

  1. LOL, I will try my best not to light my hair on fire! We are having a small American BBQ on Saturday, yay 4th of July in China!

Oh my goodness, I LOVE deviled eggs. I used to make them for myself at home for lunch. Weird, but true. Have fun learning!

Cute pics! And I would have died too to get 131-- yay Target customer service! I knew there was a reason I loved them.

    Happy 4th!

  4. I'm a huge 4th fan myself. No fireworks this year since we're leaving on vacay on the morning of the 5th, but I will have a post-parade brunch--complete with decorated children.

  6. Good Morning Suz, We're headed to pick up George's folks and take them home. They've been as his sister's home in Tullahoma, TN this week. It will be a long day on the road!!!!!

Glad you didn't have to pay for ALL of those photos.

Hope you and the family have a wonderful 4th and weekend.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  7. The photo experience sounds like some I've had in ordering things online. I hate it when that happens.
    Cute kids!
Good luck with the deviled eggs. We will try to keep from catching afire with fireworks.
    Happy 4th!

  9. I am usually on the verge of a panic attack each 4th we spend in Knoxville. Vol Fan's family is here so we spend it with them.

The problem? There are boys. Lots of rough boys. Their 4th tradition? A bottle rocket war. Yes, I said a bottle rocket war. They choose sides and shoot bottle rockets at each other. Yes, there is blood involved.

    They are stupid.

  10. LOL! Yes, we have all been there with something similar to your photo mess. I make the deviled eggs but don't eat them. Hubs always has to taste test to see if they are okay.

  11. Oh my head is spinning! I've submitted multiple orders before, but I blame the sites because they should have a "double check" type of submit button like most of my bills do.

Have a great 4th of July, and yes....America Rocks, as do our service men and women.

  13. Great fireworks advice! (sounds like there might be a story there!) Happy 4th!

  14. That picture incident is exactly something that would happen to me! I swear, I hate trying to do stuff like that. It'd take me less time to put together an entire scrapbook of already printed pictures than to have to upload them to some website and mess around with them there! So aggravating.

Have a very happy 4th! And have fun w/your deviled egg making. (They're a cinch!)

  15. I get so upset when things don't work the way I expect them to in the time frame I've allowed for ~ this happens a lot!

    Enjoy the 4th ~

  21. I was grinning from ear to ear by the time you got to Target. I can't help it, but I laughed out loud when you saw the 131 pictures. Isn't technology wonderful? I know you'll do a wonderful job making deviled eggs. Have a wonderful Fourth (you deserve it!).
