The tomatoes are caged.
The peppers and eggplants are staked.
The broccoli is sitting in the dirt; trembling with excitement.
NOW, “I command thee to GROW and feed me.”
I tend to get a little bossy at times….Of course, I say it in a nice tone, that makes a difference. Right?
Yes, nice matters :)
ReplyDeleteWell, they've always said that talking to your plants will help them grow. And, I'm sure "nice tone" makes all the difference. ;-)
ReplyDeleteCan you come over and see if it'll work with my turnips???
ReplyDeleteOh how I wihs I could command my garden to grom right now. Ours must sleep until spring...sigh.
ReplyDeletePS Thanks for the comment on my "Coming Out" post today!
I always found that my veggies grew when I talked ugly - complained about the weeds, cursed the bugs, etc....
ReplyDeleteand mine would be screaming BRRRRRRRRRRRR
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they appreciate your kind tone! We are home safe and sound - thanks for your good thoughts!
ReplyDeleteSince it's freezing here, I had no idea you could grow those things right now.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure they'll all listen since you used a nice tone when talking to them. Besides, your garden looks too good not to grow.
ReplyDeleteSalad buffet at Suz's house soon! ;)
ReplyDeleteCan't wait.
Does Ranch grow on trees?! Or should bring my own bottle?!
my garden has gone to sleep for the winter... i will let it do what it will
ReplyDeleteYou are a good commander. They'd better listen up.
ReplyDeleteHow wonderful to still be able to garden. The weather is getting close to winter in the Maritimes. My garden is a distant memory. Have fun with your green thumb Suz! :)
ReplyDeleteAs long as you are respectful in your commandeering, I say go for it!
ReplyDeleteWell, they say that plants are sensitive to such things. Having a "brown thumb," I wouldn't know. But I will follow the progress of your growing things! =)
ReplyDeleteFar too cold to be in the garden here for more than about five seconds
ReplyDeleteHi Suz, Those veggies are so scared of you --that I'm sure they will produce TONS of great produce JUST for you and your family..... I can almost feel that broccoli shaking from fear!!!!! ha
ReplyDeleteHugs,
Betsy
we have already had snow and you're...planting more veggies? That is SO unfair SUZ...
ReplyDeleteIt surely does matter! It's all in the tone. That's what I say anyway :)
ReplyDeleteNothing tastes better than vegetables fresh from the garden. Is your growing season year round or do you have a little break during the winter?
ReplyDeleteIf you feed them they will feed you (I think that's the way it works).
ReplyDeleteWha? Where's the little eggplant? Did he escape?
ReplyDelete:-(
they look lovely! and yes you have to be very nice to them. you can sing them a little song too!
ReplyDeleteSo bizarre to read about and see green growning gardens when everything here is bunking down for a long, cold, icy winter... sigh.
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky ;-)
I was thinking exactly what ChiTown Girl said! And I think it is true because since my daughter took over caring for (and she talks to) my plants, they are doing fantastic!
ReplyDeletecan you command in a nice voice? at least with a smile :)
ReplyDeleteCould you please come over and boss my squash around. Who plants 8 squash plants anyway? They need to be told to quit producing...sigh...
