Party time and Sick time

I was able to make it to my FIL's 70th birthday last Saturday.
{I feel bad if I infected anyone with my funky germs!}
It was a great party and a bit of a family reunion too.
We saw family members that we've not visited with in years, so I was so glad I went….but again, so sorry if I gave anyone else the funk.
The birthday boy and his boys.

My FIL had a great day. Fabulous food, live music and his wife Judy even had a photo booth; good times.
Show me the money?

When the photo booth walls were taken down, they challenged us to see how many we could fit into one pic.

In lieu of gifts Judy asked for everyone to bring items to donate to our local homeless shelter. Oh, boy, I wish I had taken a photo of the goodies that everyone brought. (food, personal items etc)
What a great idea!

I've spent the week IN house. The coach had the funky germs a month ago; he is so charismatic that those funky germs came back to visit him again!
I've warned the girls to stay away from me, but we are magnets to each other, therefore they will be hacking up their lungs in no time.

Take your vitamins people and it wouldn't hurt to avoid the general public for the next month.

So, do you have any parties this weekend?

Happy weekend!
XOXO

  1. Hello on a gorgeous, spring day in TENNESSEE. Wow---after the long and bitter winter we had this year, Spring is even more inviting and lovely.

So sorry to hear that you have been sick. That is NO FUN.... But it looks as if the party turned out GREAT... I'm sure he'll remember that birthday for a long time!!!!! Why didn't you give me a party when I turned 70???? Dang... Well--you'll have another chance in August--when I turn a whopping 72... ha

We are now home 'again' --after our 5th trip since the end of February.... Seems as if we visited five different states --although the trips weren't planned for that reason... ha... BUT--as I always say, it's great to be home... I did publish a blog post today--so check it out when you have time. Have a wonderful weekend and get WELL.

    Hugs,
    Betsy

  2. Good to hear you were able to make it to the party and had a great time! Sorry to hear the coach got the crud again... :-( We've got a bike/poker run we're going to this Saturday and if all works out, we'll be getting Hannah a car on Sunday! Wish us (or better yet her) luck!

  5. Oh so much fun! And the FIL sure does not look 70! Wow! I've started a gym membership and diet and I intend to look good when I'm 70! Yelp! Gotta play with the grandbabies, for sure!

  8. Hope you are outrunning those germs soon.
We were at a party earlier today for my 7 year old niece . Such fun , cake flying through the air , lots of running in circles , loud screaming , jags of crying , spilt drinks everywhere . Oh by the way I was referring to the adults .. the kids were outside playing nicely :)

  10. what a fun party, love the photo booth! and i really, really love the idea of donating things instead of gifts. wish more adults would consider this as we can get ourselves whatever we want and it makes gift giving a snap, and such a worthy cause! hope you are feeling better!!

  11. I think I had the funky crud a few weeks ago. I like to blame it on the grandkids, but in this case, I think they got it after I did.
The party looks fun. A photo booth is always a good idea.

  13. Well I hope you're feeling better!

I had a busy weekend, but aren't they all?! Someone really needs to get on the idea of permanent three-day weekends!

  17. My boss offered to pay for the flu shot for me but I declined saying "I need the flu - how else will I get a day off!" Hope you're feeling better and glad it didn't get you until AFTER you had the chance to share the bug and have a great time partying.

  18. Looks like you managed to enjoy the weekend even if you had the creepin' crud. I hope you and the mister are well by now...and that the girlies managed to stay unaffected. : )
