My Sanity is a terrible thing to waste; plus I look terrible in orange.

Does anyone else get so frustrated with peeling an onion that they contemplate throwing the thing out the window without opening the window first?

What about dogs that want to be under your feet?
And cats that want to eat daily?
And phones that like to ring and ping and ping and ring?

And what about slow internet speed? I thought I was going to lose my mind while trying to put together Lindsay's graduation announcements….the laptop was THIS close to going into the pool for a swim.

Or….
Perhaps it's just my PMS symptoms flaring up. And when I say flaring up, I'm referring to the FLAMES that were shooting out of my ears.

Death was close for anyone in my vicinity a couple of days ago.

I'm thinking I need to seek medical attention for this OR put a good lawyer on retainer for when I lose it completely.

Judge Judy, I plead insanity because I felt insane.

On the upside have you ever seen a more beautiful flower??
The beginning of Oprah okra!

Who knew okra started out so pretty?

Thankfully my insanity lasted just over one day.
Really though, it took a lot out of me….resisting violence is exhausting.

Have you felt the desire to commit bodily harm on innocent people or things this week?

  1. My husband is the PMS'er in this house. Sheesh... If we had a pool, I swear that there are days he would toss EVERYTHING in it. LOL

  2. Not necessarily this week, but I know the feeling well. :-)

  3. Been there for sure! We women all know the feeling. Go by a good health food store and ask for some suggestions. Also increase your soy to help balance things out. And you probably are, but drink a LOT to help with the unexpected heat we sometimes get. Whatever you do, please try to avoid hormone pills. I have had too many friends develop cancer because of them.

  5. HA HA ----Been there/done that.... I remember those days when I was working fulltime and taking care of my sons as a single parent sometimes has to do... I met myself coming and going at specific times... Graduations were busy times ---AHHHH---just raising kids makes for busy times!!!!! BUT---it's all worth it!!! AND--since they do grow up SO fast, you had better smile and enjoy it NOW.

I love Okra (FRIED OKRA--not the slimy stuff) -----but who knew the flowers are so pretty!!!!

    Hugs,
    Betsy

Glad you are better now. I love fried okra but have not eaten any in years. I remember helping my grandma pick okra and how badly it stung my skin!!!

  12. As much as we would enjoy visiting you down there in Florida, I'm glad we were up here during your temporary bit of insanity. I can completely sympathize with you about slow internet speed. The okra blossom is beautiful. Have a great weekend.

  13. Suz: I am sorry. I can not relate to those moods or feelings. I am always cool, calm and collected. It's the drugs I think. It all just simmers under the surface and we don't keep any weapons in the house. No but, seriously, you sound perfectly normal to me. A multi-tasker with a lot to do for sure; enough to make anyone irritable from time to time. xx

  14. I was talking tonight with friends about how nice I used be. ;)

  15. Oh boy can I relate, and I don't have the bother of PMS anymore. What's my excuse now? Whaaaa, now what do I do?
I saw this quote that I love, it says, I've been to the beach, yoga, gardened and I still want to bitch slap someone. Just had to laugh at that one!

  16. Yes, yes, I have! My emotions or hormones or both are out of control! Poor Jeremy was wondering what was wrong with me the other day as I started bawling because I was "having a bad day". He didn't know what to do with that ;) Praying for some peace for you, and for others to stay out of your way :)

  18. Not peeling onions, but shallots drive me crazy and one of our favorite recipes uses TWO pounds of them. I don't often have those days anymore. No one here but my husband and dog and I can easily ignore both when I want.

  19. Thank goodness you didn't have a gun handy, or a lot of stuff in your house wouldn't had fresh holes!
The okra flowers are lovely. We've tried to grow okra here, but it doesn't stay hot for long enough and the plants are always pitifully stunted.

  20. Yes but then I let my new dog Lily lick my face for about five minutes and then I was all better....;)

  21. We have cats underfoot all the time - we say they are "dogging our footsteps." I don't have the "M" anymore, so there is no PMS, but now, I DO have menopause, and that is another "adventure in hormoneland." I feel for you (and your peeps) - glad it passed quickly!
You have taught us all something about okra - how pretty!

Yes, and every time I go to the doctor, I am given more pills to help with it! Zoloft and Klonopin are my best friends. I don't even want to kill them!

  23. I'm obviously woefully behind on blog reading so this is old news...but I have lately had days where if anyone asked me to do one more thing or make one more decision, I would happily quite EVERYTHING I am doing. EVERYTHING! It has been a crazy spring. We should go drink nice wine and relax.
