Joining Tanya and friends to share 5 willy nilly thoughts, pics or whatevers.
1. The Coach and I went to see a flick this week. This Is Where I Leave You.
I give it four thumbs up. We both thought it was very funny….and of course, I {the weeper} found much to cry about. Mostly happy tears, but tears none the less.
Can you imagine what a great hitchhiker I'd be if I actually had FOUR thumbs?
2. I'm knee deep into the second season of House of Cards.
I love it. I hate it. I love the brilliant writing. I loathe the deviousness of it all. Politics smolitics. The politicians are portrayed as NOT so nice characters….and I have a feeling this is a true characterization.
Have you watched it?
3. I find that when I post these 5 blips on the Willy Nilly Friday 5, that most people only connect with one or two items.
4. See how I just skipped over number 3? I'm {practically} brilliant. HA!
5. I've also noticed that people usually always comment on a photo that I share. So…I'm going to look and see if I've taken a photo this week.
I'll be right back.
Ok, this isn't from this week. This was my birthday dinner a few weeks ago; I got to see both of my lovelies!!! Have I mentioned that I adore them?
I mean, I REALLY adore them.
I mean, I REALLY adore them.
Even if they make me look like I'm super short.
Is 5'2 3/4" super short?
BTW: I'm totally owning the 3/4".
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend filled with lovely people, a good flick and steer clear of slimy politicians!!
Love the photo! Old folks like me can't remember what the 5 randoms were without scrolling back and forth while commenting!!! lol
ReplyDeleteMovie looks like a good one and I am not familiar with the series.
About the only show I watch weekly is The Voice! There's a cute man from Atl on this season that sings country!
I'll have to check out the voice and see for myself!
DeleteThat movie will be my guilty pleasure. I love Jason Bateman and he's good in every movie. And I will be inspecting Jane Fonda whenever she's on screen, she looks incredible. I LOVED House of Cards. Can't wait for season 3. Great photo of you all. :D
ReplyDeleteI adore Jason Bateman AND Tina Fey. Jane Fonda has go it going on and she's so funny in this movie!
DeleteI can't really relate with the first two points since I haven't seen them. But I do love the photo! Are they taller than you for real or is it just their heels?
ReplyDeleteThey might be an inch taller than I…..but they are also able to manage MUCH taller wedges than I, so I lose the tall competition hands down. Or feet down?
DeleteI didn't see your new show, but I watch Scandal. And I think it is totally real. I believe politicians get murdered every day in DC. And I also believe there is a beautiful woman having an affair with the president. I believe it.
ReplyDeleteYou are short and sensational. Those girls are adorable.
Is 5'2 3/4" super short? From where I stand, I'm afraid it is. Tom The Backroads Traveller
ReplyDeleteA friend of mine went to see the movie and loved it as well. I've seen the previews and it is definitely on my "must watch list". I have not watched house of cards, but then again, lately I'm almost never home in the evening. Between volleyball, swim, workout classes I'm constantly on the go...
ReplyDeleteYou and your girls are gorgeous Suz, and no, you are not short. Some take longer to reach perfection and other's get there sooner - that's what I tell myself since I'm only 5'2". ;-) Have an awesome weekend!
I cannot wait to see "This is Where I Leave You"! The book was great, and I love Jason Bateman, Tina Fey and Adam from Girls!
ReplyDeleteHouse of Cards is AMAZING. Can't wait to hear your thoughts once you finish the season!!
Happy Friday!
Wonderful smiles and happy times in your birthday photo.
ReplyDeleteAnd you said Politicians are portrayed as not so nice characters? Have you met one that is nice? Few and far between...not honest at all anymore. Sadly.
Hi There, We just got home from a wonderful trip to Texas. I have a good blog post published --so check it out if you haven't seen it yet. Got to see 2 of my 'cuties' PLUS two gorgeous granddaughters. This Mama was in 7th heaven...
ReplyDeleteI always connect with pictures --so I guess that is why I post so many!!!!! ha... Love the picture of you and your 'lovlies'... All three are beautiful...
I've never been short---but as I am getting older, I'm losing my height! I used to be about 5'6"--and am now only 5'4"... Wonder if I'll end up in a child's seat in the car????? ha
Hugs,
Betsy
Vol Fan likes to point out that I'm 3" away from the car seat height requirement for needing a booster seat. :/
DeleteToo freaking funny, :)
DeleteI totally connect with #3 and #4 :D
ReplyDeleteBTW, at 5'2 3/4", you are practically a giant. However, this opinion is coming from someone that is 5'4".....but only when I'm wearing 3" heels :/
ReplyDeleteYou're so funny!!!
DeleteAnd seriously, Vol Fan's entire family is giants. He is 6'3" as is his brother. His sister is like 5'10" and so was his grandmother! Giants! Huge freaking giants!!
ReplyDeleteI am guilty of scrolling down to photos when I'm in a hurry, but really do like to read too. I have never seen House of Cards but I'm sure I would like it. I read all of David Baldocci books about the corrupt government. I get a little paranoid about it sometimes. I'm a Scandal fan! I know, yikes! Dirty, dirty, dirty. I do love to look at photos of a mama and her babies. You have two beauties there and I think the one in the middle is a cutie too:)
ReplyDeleteyup, i can usually relate to 1 out of 5. :) you three are lovely.
ReplyDeleteYou make beautiful babies - and you're darn pretty yourself! (photo comment)
ReplyDeleteYes, do WORK that 3/4" - I certainly would claim it (I'm 5'1" tall)!
I have watched only a few episodes of House of Cards. Gregg only made it through one; he refuses to watch more. David (Crim. J. major) loved it.
I want to go see "This is Where I Leave You" - but am such a softy that I am not sure it's worth crying over imaginary strangers. What do you think? Does four thumbs up mean it is worth it? Happy Weekend to you and your peeps (human and animal). xoxo
I haven't seen the movie or the 'house of cards' so I can't make an intelligent comment on either. Perhaps I could leave an unintelligent one?
ReplyDeleteThe girls are gorgeous and you hit the chart right along with them. Being short is cute!
what a great picture of you and your girls! i wanna see that movie, it looks good and i love jason bateman. if you cried i prob will too, i'm a big old weeper. very clever about number 3! i haven't seen house of cards yet but always mean to. thanks for linking and have a great weekend shorty!
ReplyDeleteLove anything with Jason Bateman in it but we never go see movies. It's hard to find one we both like so we just stay home! :) And you just need a super high pair of heels and you'll be almost as tall as your girls!
ReplyDeleteNo way to avoid the sleazy politicians here. I haven't started House of Cards but do plan to watch it.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if long hair makes your daughters somehow look even taller...well, heels too :)
ReplyDeleteMy mother was five-foot, two-inches tall, so I consider that an ideal height, although I will make allowance for the 3/4 inch. We have not seen House of Cards, but many people have told us how great it is. I hope you have a great weekend.
ReplyDeleteCute pic!
ReplyDeleteMy mom was 5'2"....my sisters....5'3" and 5'4"....me....5'10".....my son 6'6"....not sure where the height came from....perhaps all the milk I drink?
1. I wish I'd gone to see that movie instead of The Equalizer (UGH!). Denzel was great, but the movie was full of gratuitous violence (I should have known, my bad).
ReplyDelete2. I loved House of Cards, and I agree with you about the great writing etc. vs. evil! Argh!
3. By the time I start writing my comment, I forget half of what I was thinking about as I read the post.
4. So, this time I am going back and forth to remember what I was thinking so I could write it down.
5. Gorgeous and joyful! Definitely not super short, just a little less height than others. :-)
(1) This is Where I Leave You is also a great book. One of my favorites. Love Jonathan Tropper. (2) I have yet to see the movie, but I will. (3) I'm not skipping over #3..ha! (4) I LOVE House of Cards. I heard an interview with Bill Clinton where he said it is pretty much spot on for DC except that legislation is never passed as fast on the hill as on TV. You'll also want to watch Orange is the New Black if you haven't already done so. and (5) You look fabulous. 5'2 3/4 is a great height to be! I might have you beat by 1/4 whole inch. :)
