It's all about perspective....

I need to get a swift kick in the booty on occasion to have my brain adjusted...
negative Nancy has left town, hopefully she won't be back for a while.

The day that I posted my "whiny complaints" (yes, I know when I am whining) I went to the dentist to have my teeth cleaned. Which by the way is one of my most favorite things to do.
I really feel it is a luxury. And I love it. I keep suggesting that they include a mani/pedi whilst I get my teeth done...but to no avail.
I have been going to the same dentist for almost 11 years. I love him, and the staff.
The hygienist has been there about 8 years. Just love her too. We talk as much as we can with her hand in my mouth.
She came out to meet in the reception area and I knew instantly something had changed.
Her hair was about a quarter of an inch long. (and yes, I have been complaining about my bad hair days. *smack in the butt for me*)
I asked her what was going on.
She smiled and told me just the usual stuff.
I said, ok, did you get a haircut????
She laughed and said, oh, no I had breast cancer and just finished chemotherapy.
(at this moment I really wanted someone to smack me for real)
She is doing great though. The Dr's say she is cancer free.
She found this....pay attention ladies.....by doing her routine mammogram.
no family history
no symptoms
The cancer had already spread to her lymph nodes and they zapped that with radiation.
She is about 44 years old.
Get those boobies smashed.
I am scheduled for next week. (only 3 weeks late this year)

Speaking on Dr's. Lo has 2 appointments today for her headache issue. An appointment tomorrow to get the final clearance on her wrist healing and again hopefully she can play sports.
Next week the Orthodontist for the kids. Mammogram for me.
The week after that a new crown for me. (Merry Christmas)
We are taking full advantage of our health insurance.

Oh, and bonus people: If you whine about yourself on your blog and If your MOM reads your blog, then has to call you and tell you again all the motherly stuff: You are beautiful, I love your hair, If I had your body I would never wear clothes, etc....I told her if she held my blog against me I would block her. ;)
I love you Mom. Even if you are secretly a nudist. scary.
Oh, the pic up top...I was searching for "woman kicking her own butt" Surprisingly, they don't have such photos. shocking, I know.
But this did remind me of going to aerobics classes in a leo in the early 80's. I guess I needed the workout considering I had about 5% body fat.....*boohoo* I should have spent that time at the buffet instead.

A picture is worth a thousand

Not so distant memories.....

Negative Nancy

Do you ever start feeling really down about yourself ?
I have, and I questioned myself this very morning as to why I feel this way....
Could it be the weather? No.
The upcoming holiday? No.

Well then, why my funk??
I think it is a plethora of things...

  • two bad haircuts (back to back),
  • a few extra pounds
  • a zit the size of Texas
  • desperate need of a professional pedicure
  • a set of luggage under my eyes from 2 bad nights of sleep
  • worry over the economy crisis that is hitting home
  • crazy dreams that are starting to freak me out in the day too (picture: spiders and ticks)
  • The girls not doing their best in school. They have already lost their cell phones and computers...what else to take away from them? food.... water....

I know I have MUCH to be thankful for, but some days it is the petty small stuff that bugs me.

I swear I will stop complaining about my hair soon. I know I am lucky to have it and if I keep complaining then God will take it away.

(at least that is what I tell my kids)

As I was going through the mail today I found this Juicy little nugget on a postcard.

Oh, nothing will make me feel better after eating my weight in turkey and desserts this past week like watching starved supermodels strutting around in underwear the size of my pinkie toe.

I may send over a pastry platter to get them fed before they hit the cat walk. ;)

Does anyone even watch this?

Negative Nancy will be leaving soon and The cheerful busy bee will resume her happiness. promise.

7 unusual things about moi.

I ducked, I hid, yet I was still tagged "IT" by my wonderful "real" friend Happy Wife Happy Life . I suppose I am getting slower and slower these days....

7 Unusual tidbits about me:

  1. I am truly angry that Styrofoam is still being produced. I get very upset when I see people throwing it out, knowing myself that if will be on the planet forever. You know how the PETA people throw red dye on real fur coats...I am trying to come up with a clever way to stop the use of Styrofoam. I don't really think this is unusual though....

  2. If I had the means, I would seriously love to redecorate my house every year. From furniture to flooring. Obviously, that can't be done. So I just move stuff around from time to time. It keeps the family on their toes....Well, maybe I would leave our bedroom alone...I finally love it.

  3. I already worry about my girls going away to college without me. They are 15 and 12. Probably not unusual either....

  4. I can't stand it when people say: "Me and So and So." My Dad always corrected us and I always feel the urge to do it also and say: "no, it is: So and So and I". I realize both are used, but it still bugs me.

  5. I am seriously considering NOT having a Christmas party this year because I can't stand my hairstyle. I know that sounds really trivial and vain, but really it stresses me out.

  6. I could eat thanksgiving dinner at least 2x a week and never tire of it.

  7. I have lived in Florida for most of my life and just this past weekend ate gator tail for the first time. I was surprised that it tastes just like chicken. The hardest part was wrestling him to get his tail.

Fried Gator and lobster dip? On the same table...... it seems very unnatural.

I am not going to tag anyone in particular...we are all so busy these days.

Did anyone besides me realize that today is DECEMBER 1st???

Feel free to tag yourself and share some tidbits. ;)
