Nekkid Birds Driving on TV.

A miracle happened on Monday January 18th 2011 at 1:45pm.

All the laundry in this house was clean.

For 46 minutes.

I see the benefit of being a nudist.

***

I have been playing the game ANGRY BIRDS on my new droid. Is anyone as frustrated as I am with throwing birds?

Lindsay has had about 8 minutes total behind the wheel since she got her learner’s permit.

7.5 minutes of that she was laughing hysterically. I wasn’t.

She asked me yesterday {as I was driving} “Would you get arrested if you drove backwards down the road?”

I said ‘yes’, but then wondered… is it illegal?

***

I have a very good visual memory; it haunts me. When certain TV shows are on, I have to vacate the room because I can’t forget horrifying scenes.

On my avoid list: CSI, Law & Order SVU, My Secret Addiction, 1,000 ways to die and the pièce de résistance: The Jersey Shore.

Anything to add to any of this nonsense?

Have a great weekend doing this and that. And if you are lucky, some of the other thing too.

  1. we are addicted to the smurfs app over here. We don't buy the berries so we have to do a lot of waiting and watching the little blue guys walking around...it is cute, it is dumb, it is addicting.

  2. I would love to being some of the other thing!

I have a hard time watching Grey's Anatomy sometimes, because the 'fake' medical procedures look way too real!

  3. SUZ! I dreamt last night that you were my neighbor and you had a pet lizard with big hungry teeth. You were cool about it, feeding it bugs and all, but I was like "keep that thing away from me!". Have an awesome weekend, gr :)

  4. Criminal Minds can be pretty graphic and horrifying too...I am with you, it's really hard to get those images out of my mind...yes, I know it's just a show and they are acting but some how I can not keep out the thought that these evil things actually do happen in our world.

Your daughters hysteric's make me smile...oh the life of a new driver and their parents...lol...on the rare occasion that all our laundry is done I have this wish for everyone to just stay clean and yes can't we be nudist's? :)

    Happy weekend dear friend. XX

  6. Hubby just got a new droid...guess I better come up with a good reason why I need one now.

  7. I am with you. I don't like to watch yucky stuff either! I went through an Angry Birds "phase", but then when the levels got so hard that I was saying "stupid pig" a lot, I figured I had better quit. And hubs got tired of bailing me out on levels I was stuck on.

  8. I don't mind doing the laundry...it's the putting away that I hate!
I still have an old fashioned slide phone. I'm not with the times. :)

  9. Those darn birds! I can't get beyond level 1!!!

  10. I beat the birds! That I have nothing to show for a few weeks of my life beyond beating a game is of no consequence.

Your daughter did ask a valid question. Maybe you could test it out and let us know.

  11. Oh, the joys of a new driver in the family. Thanks for the memories.

  12. lol... I was addicted to Angry Birds on the husband's droid, so he got me my own for Christmas.

If you are driving backwards in the CORRECT lane (as in, you are going with the flow of traffic), I think it's okay. Now, don't quote me on that. I am not a real cop, I just play one on CSI.

    Okay, not really.
    Just be safe.

  13. I am impressed that anyone could get all the laundry done. If I ever did, probably a cat would throw up on the bath mat or something similar.

It's great it's your turn again to help someone learn to drive. Those weren't the easiest days of being a parent - - - it was knowing I had to keep my eyes open and mouth shut - - most of the time that was the most difficult and praying I wouldn't need anti-anxiety medicine before the license was granted!

  14. That's the kind of shows which George and I LOVE (CSI, Criminal Minds, Law and Order: SVU, etc.)... ha ha ... What does that say about US??????? Hmmmmmmm...

    Have a great weekend.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  15. You should post pictures of your nude self. It's okay, I'm gay. I swear, it won't turn me on at all. Okay, maybe a little if the lighting is just right.
    Your Friend, m.

  17. I love ALL the legal/cop shows. Love them. There used to be a show about the FBI called "Without A Trace." When my then 14-year old son went missing from a hotel the opening scene of the show--when the victim fades away--was running through my mind on a loop.

  18. Hi Suz! I tripped on my way over here, but finally made it. Patrick has off today and I am reading out loud to him. He said to tell you: Bones, Fringe and Criminal Minds all have gory stuff.

Teaching a kid to drive is one of the most exasperating things on earth.I couldn't do it and Patrick gave up and we finally had to hire AZ.Driving School to teach Jessica. She claims to be a worldclass driver now. (Look out Seattle!)

  19. i absolutely CANNOT and will not watch any program that has to do with hurting animals, fishing, hunting, and even animal cops cuz it hurts me too much.. and then i remember it. i also cant watch anything of abusive behavior towards another. they can keep their strange addictions [WHERE do they find these nuts any way] and jersey shores aint nuttin but whores!

yes i sound judgmental but what the hay... i'm only human... or am i canine? i forget.

my jujube loves playing angry birds on his mama's phone!!! and he is very good at it.

i would be all for being a nudist but i'd be the only one around cuz i would scare everyone away!! lmao.

    seriously.

being a nurse i do enjoy true stories of the er... blood doesnt bother me... and i like to watch birth stories too. but mainly i like family guy, history channel, discovery channel, cooking channels, documenteries of certain kinds and tornado chasers.. to name a few.

  20. I've been rewatching the X-Files and some episodes I still have to turn off. Creep-fest!

Oh, Angry Birds. I have it on my iPad. My sister played for hours and hours over Christmas. I last about 15 minutes and I'm done. I get addicted to things, but I seem to be immune from Angry Birds.

Lindsey is too funny. I think the answer is yes, unless you are keeping up with traffic! And then, wow, you should be a stunt-driver!

  21. Good Morning, Suz,
You always brighten my day...I mean, who else can blog about doing the laundry and make it enteraining?!

I think you and I would get along in the television watching department.

    Happy Weekend. ~Natalie

  22. Yes: war movies.
"Born on the 4th of July," "Saving Private Ryan," etc. Gregg wouldn't even let me see SPR. Now, you know that normally he is not bossy, and I am not obedient, but the reason that he bossed and I obeyed is that when we were dating, we saw "Born on..." and I had trauma flashbacks for about 3 solid days. Horrible scenes kept replaying through my mind. I was upset with Gregg, because he didn't have this response, and he kept saying, "It's just a MOVIE." I kept saying, "But it's based on a TRUE STORY." I thought he was heartless. He says I can't see anymore war movies...and I agree.

  23. I've been experimenting with Droid Talk - creating some ringtones. I find it all sooooo funny!

I can watch almost anything happen to a human on TV and tell myself it's just make believe, but even the remote suspicion that something a teensy bit unkind is going to happen to an animal and off the
    TV goes!

  24. and yet... you are addicted to jail shows!!!

oh, 46 whole minutes of laundry bliss? envious!

i will ask eric about backwards...

    love ya!

  25. I haven't been able to make myself watch that addiction show. That is just too weird. I almost think people are making this stuff up just to get on tv.
The Jersey Shore: UGH! These are grown people acting like immature teenagers. There is no shame anymore.

  26. January 18th was last Tuesday dear, not Monday - you should watch less traumatizing TV, ha ha! :-D

    *kidding*

Clean laundry spins my head, too.

I wish it happened more often.

About TV, anything on TLC... Untold Stories of the ER, all those shows with freaks (my skin is eaging me alive, paralyzed and pregnant, the man with half a body, the girl with two heads... GAAAH)

  29. It always brings a smile to my face to come over here..."Is it illegal to drive backwards"!!! By the time my last one needed to learn how to drive my nerves were in shreds regarding the subject. Perfect answer: Driving School. The best $300 I EVER spent...no kidding. :-D

  30. Speaking of driving backward, my daughter was with her boyfriend when his transmission went out and would only work in reverse. The kid drove about 10 miles down a mountain road backward. I'm glad I didn't find out until afterward, but my visual memory still haunts me on this one.
