Did I ever tell you that LoLo has a sharpie obsession?
She is dedicated daily to doodling.
This is what she does all day long at school….toting her bag of sharpies from {AP & Honors} class to class.
Lucky for her she is maintaining straight A’s B’s. Also lucky for her, there is no sharpie brain damage happening. yet.

I made broccoli soup last night. {and sloppy joes!} I used broccoli that I grew in my very own garden.
Ok, that broccoli is not from my garden. I know, Liar Liar pants of fire….whatever…
But I do have several heads of the green stuff growing. They are so cute and green!

I have a very important question for all of you:
What is the most memorable vacation you’ve ever had?
Where did you go?
Oh, wait, you say you’ve not had a memorable vacation yet?
Well, where would YOU go if you could?
Please share, we are looking for inspiration.
Have a great weekend doing whatever you do when you are not with me.
ps. Your Mom called and she said: eat your veggies!
I love those Sharpie pics. More please.
ReplyDeleteMy most memorable vacation?
Would have to be the first family holiday we ever had. Six kids, two parents in a caravan (trailer). Oh flashbacks... the horror. I will have to blog about it.
Cute broccoli by the way.
;-)
that girl has talent. great with sharpies she could design web backgrounds and make a killing!!
ReplyDeleteas far as vacation goes we once took my mother to table rock lake over by branson missouri. then we took her to see gahlagar, the watermelon smasher, he was actually on a marquee in branson!! the late midnight show!! they would never headline that guy but he was great!!
I have no idea how to make homemade broccoli soup! (hangs head in shame)
ReplyDeleteFave vacation so far....hmmm Too many to list. Maybe Florida when we went for a month! Next big dreamy one. Paris!
All of our memorable vacations were to my Grandma's trailor in Clarion, Pennsylvania. I am sure people will give you better ideas from your stellar readers. XO
ReplyDeletePS Your Mom called and told me to tell you to STOP SHOWING OFF YOUR BIG BROCCILEE
please tell lolo that i have her original art on my bulletin board at work. i look at it and it makes me smile :)
ReplyDeletei just knew that was not YOUR broccoli! but i am impressed with your little stalks!
and... i don't even need to tell you my fav vacation... cuz you know. and you also know that you should just give in and take lolo to africa :)
I've been thinking about putting broccoli soup on the menu...But we are having Beef and Broccoli for dinner tonight.
ReplyDeleteVacation? I guess it would depend on when and who was going.
San Francisco is a very romantic place as well as family friendly.
A friend and her teen son spent Christmas at a Beaches Resort in Nigel, Jamaica. They had a great time...all inclusive.
I'd like to do an Alaskan cruise...in the summer of course.
Love the sharpie artwork.
Have a fab weekend!
Hi Suz, Love Lo's Sharpie pic. You/she should visit Amy's blog to see how to make a necklace using this original artwork ~ here's the link: http://lifeinpinkhitops.blogspot.com/2010/12/secret.html
ReplyDeleteI am envious of your broccoli!
Hmmmm...my best trip was to Germany for Christmas a LONG time ago; not sure I would want to travel that far now that I am olden!!!
rofl, i have a sharpie addiction too, at collecting them. i worked at a school in KY and the kids were forbidden to have them. mainly cuz they would destroy the property with them! so we would have to confiscate them. darn, don't you hate that? well, over a period of 5 years, we had quite a collection. they would just throw them out! perfectly good sharpies!! some still in the package! well, when we left there to come take care of his parents, they had just started to give out to the staff things that could be reused or recycled. stuff the kids left behind when they left, or donated or didn't want any more. me, SHARPIES!!!! i have all the colors in the clickie!! love them, but just for scrap booking!!
ReplyDeletemy fave vacation so far would have to be be anything with the kids. we lived in japan for 4 years, we would go camping on the beach, for a week up in northern okinawa. we would sit around the fire, cooking our supper, watching the sunset. take walks collecting seashells, driftwood, etc. we would tell the kids stories...some scary....some true. a time they would always look back on and hope they would some day share with their kiddoes.
the simple stuff, not always the glitzy, can be the best, i think!
LoLo is a very good artist. I didn't realize Sharpie art could be so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCongratulations on your broccoli -- it looks great.
Camping in our camper on the river. Sweet memories! I love my veggies! And LoLo is the Sharpie Princess!
ReplyDelete<><
The best vacation we ever had was to the "Siegsdorf" area in Bavaria, Germany. Love, love, love the mountains. My dream vacation would be to Egypt. Either one might be a little further than you guys want to go...
ReplyDelete1. Honeymoon in Maui with Gregg (no details available). =P
ReplyDelete2. Europe with David & Gregg (I can give you details of this one in an email).
3. Palm Desert with Katie, David & Gregg (details available as above).
Your artist is very talented! I love ALL art supplies, and colored pens are SUPERB. You might want to give her some unlined sketchbook paper, too. It's a whole different ball game. xoxo
ok, you have to have Lo go to this site http://www.zentangle.com
ReplyDeleteif doodling is her thing, i think she'll like it. it's way cool!
i've always been a big fan of old british history, so i would love to go the Scotland and Ireland first. and of course i would visit all the good haunted spots while i was there...just my cup of tea.
for the new year, i must eat more veggies. thank you very much : D
oh honey ... go to cinque terre, the italian riviera, then france. karen will back me up on this. or if you want to stay in the states, go to the wine country. i'm eating my veggies now. xoxo. your broccoli is beautimous.
ReplyDeletewe're vegas freaks! sue and i enjoy going to las vegas. and the funny thing is neither of us gambles - oh we might play some slots or keno - but we have more fun at some shows and just wandering thru town and maybe even renting a motorcycle and doing some sightseeing....we just enjoy vegas.........
ReplyDeleteCan't think of the vacation stuff. My mind's caught up in planning some cream of broccoli soup for lunch tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteWow, when Stud and LoLo get married, can you just imagine how artistically beautiful their home is going to be? ;-)
ReplyDeleteI'll have to come back with some thoughts on vacation. I'm way too sleepy to do it right now.
Mwahahahaaa...
ReplyDeleteHad my bestest in November, I know I need to finish telling. Lolo is an A+ artist!
When you are not with me, I just sit around, lost. Staring into the vast Nothingness of despair.
ReplyDeleteYour Friend, m.
p.s. Love love love the Sharpie picture. m.
That is some rockin' sharpie art! She's good!
ReplyDeleteLove the broccoli. The babies are growing up. Maybe you should start shielding them from the inevitable outcome of their tastiness.
Vacation? Memorable? Summers on the beach in Oregon being bent into a perpetual letter "L" from hunting agates....ahhhh.....
Making your own broccoli. *sigh* My plants that I brought inside for winter are dying.
ReplyDeleteWe went to Denmark a couple of years ago. Can't wait to go back. So many amazing things to see, and the best part? Everything is in English. Sure, they speak Danish, but will switch right over to English if you ask them to. Kind of expensive...you need to find a Danish uncle who will pay for everything while you're there1 :D
I love a sharp Sharpie.
ReplyDeleteMaui. Every time. Maui. I love it there. Look back in my July posts and you will see why! I'll be so jealous if you vacation there!
what talent lo has!! seriously, suz... is she interested in doing anything in the art department?
ReplyDeletei too would love to see more of her work..
awww your broccoli florrettes are so cute...
i would have to say my trip to see Jo was my fave vay cay... i miss it, and the time to myself on the way... it was such a good time!
I've never seen home-grown broccoli before, wow! that will surely taste wonderful :-D
ReplyDeleteYour girls are very talented, I wish I could doodle like that. Seriously. Love it!
Vacation... ah, they are all memorable but the best/worst one would have to be Teneriffe (Canary Islands) with my ex-husband, where he got food poisoning and almost died, where we rented a crappy tiny car and drove to the top of the volcano and the brakes went out... yeah, fun times.
I've never seen home-grown broccoli before either!! Thanks for sharing. Your daughter is quite the artist.
ReplyDeleteAnd my favorite vacation ever was our Alaskan trip two years ago. I'm dying to go back...it's BEAUTIFUL!!
Cool Sharpie pic....I have my own supply in a Ziplock...but the smell does get intoxicating! And my art is not quite as beautiful as that!
ReplyDeleteVacation? Glacier National Park...in the grand lodges....ohhhh, just thinking about the beauty is....
Broccoli....YUM!
I like the sharpie creation. I'd even consider eating the broccoli.
ReplyDeleteWe took a memorable trip to Alberta, Canada -- Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper. It was lovely. I also enjoyed visiting Olympic National Park in Washington State, and traveling to the San Juan Islands to whale watch.
I gotta tell you... that Sharpie pic is really really cool! I'd love to see some more of her artwork!
ReplyDeleteMost memorable vay-cay would have to be the 2 weeks spent in Hawaii (w/my family) when I was just 15. A week on Maui and a week on Oahu. It was awesome. Even a jaded (and spoiled) 15 year old knew how cool and special it was... :)
She is a talent! Perhaps the next Picasso!! Hmmm... most memorable vacation.....well you know mine is mostly nature and tree hugger related.....I think you should come to northern michigan.....scout is waiting! (But another memorable vacation, I loved Playa del Carmen in Mexico.) Let us know what vacation you decide to take. Oh, and do you need dog sitters for Cocoa and Oz?
ReplyDeleteShe is so talented! She should design stuff. I don't know what, but SOMETHING.
ReplyDeleteOur most memorable was our Disney cruise, hands down.
