**Prom** And avoiding Perv*rts.

Just a few prom photos to share of LoLo. I am not sharing any of her friends…just cause I shouldn’t without permission. I realized that might be a faux pas…and I have other concerns as well.

Picture perfect.

Her dress is actually gun metal gray and not black. Still, she worried she was not ‘colorful’ enough…silly kid, she radiates COLOR 24/7!

LoLo

Isn’t it cool how her earring caught the sunlight…yeah, we totally planned that.

Purty1

We really loved the back of this particular dress….and she has the ‘back’ for it.

LoLoback

To quote Lo:  IT was amazing! THE BEST PROM EVER!!!

And she has been to three…so she knows. She danced all night long and came home just after midnight…with a few less blingys on her dress. OY.

***

On Monday morning I checked my feedjit widget on my sidebar and I saw someone from Oregon was flying through my blog like a crazed maniac clicking on  my photos…well not ALL my photos; just the ones of the girls and I.

Yes. I know. ICK.

If you could have seen the visions I was picturing…I had to wash my eyes out with soap.

burn.

The only thing I could do at the time is pull off some of the recent photos and then I realized the perv was going too fast for me. I finally switched my blog to “PRIVATE”  and the creeper was blocked.

I resolved then and there not to post anymore photos of the kids.

Then I thought, heck that would be boring. So, I will monitor and I might eventually switch my blog to private (for invited readers only)  just to keep from washing my eyes out with soap.

double burn.

Anyone else have any issues with this?

  1. Your daughter is beautiful and so is her dress! I'm sorry you're having issues with some perv cruising your blog, I hope it gets resolved.

  2. Oh jeez. I don't think I have ever had visiting preverts. I think it is extremely important to be polite as a blog visitor, and this must make you feel like a peeping Tom has burglarized your house? The star sunburst on your daughter's photo = AMAZING :)

  3. arrgghh! I wouldn't even know HOW to monitor ??, how you must have felt at the time...eek! but then having three teenage boys {ALL camera shy...well for their mumma anyway!} doesn't present me with that issue....but do what you gotta do chick...it's not nice :o(

In a totally non-perverted way....Lo looked gorgeous!!! LOVED the dress and the hair {well done mom!} AND the added bit of colour

Think you can take a well earned rest from proms...you did your job! Brownie points were earned ;o)

    hugs

    hello gorgeous xxx

  4. Oh my.
I don't even know who comes to my blog.
I just pray they are kind and good people.
I hope it was a long lost cousin that wanted to watch how the kids were growing. That is my wish : )
She looks amazing. I could totally tell the dress was gun metal and not black ; )

  5. Oh Suz this made my stomach instantly sick....I have not had issues that I know of anyways...I don't have a feed widget that would let me know so how else would I know? Good luck with this...and if you go private may I please continue reading your blog?

Your Lo looked absolutely stunning...glad she had an amazing time.

It just dawned on me that we should be facebook friends...:)

Happy hump day dear friend...hope its full of smiles. XX

  6. One thing I don't have to worry about is someone checking out my blog to look at my photo. Now if I was Mr.Bee, I would have to hire an armed guard to escort the daughter to the prom in order to keep the teen aged boys away.

  7. that's just freaky. good for you for blocking. if you go private, don't forget me. your blog always brings a smile to my face.

  8. Your LoLo was stunning. I think her dress was gorgeous. I love the color...but the girl inside it is even prettier. She really is a natural beauty..even from the back. :)

As for the p*rvs...I don't blame you a bit. That's icky.

  9. YIKES! Find out who it is and bleep bleep bleep on his bleep bleep! Times ten!! I wouldn't know if someone was doing that either. Maybe I don't want to? My email got hacked last week and I'm having a hard time fixing it...blah! Did you FB friend me? I'm thinking so but I haven't been on here much lately. I'll check. Ok, have a great hump day, keep posting and know your girls will always be bling :)

  11. I so agree your daughter is just beautiful! Her dress is gorgeous and looks so pretty on her. Like hello gorgeous said I wouldn't even know how to monitor but I am glad you do and was able to block them.

  12. There was something like this on our local news recently and I thought, "No way." I guess I was wrong :(

Once in a great while I check the stats. The ones that alarm me are from the state government offices here. Repeatedly.

Your girl really does radiate beauty. Absolutely lovely.

Hope your lurker is gone for good. Then again, I bet she could beat him to a pulp faster than he could log out.

  13. Wow, she was beautiful for prom and I'm so sorry about the perv, that is so creepy! yuck, I just got the heebie jeebies

  14. She looks so beautiful! And I think her color choice for the dress is classic and will look great in photos from years to come (versus her neon pink counterparts!).

...and I don't have a problem with photos probably because it is just me + husband + Beagle in most of them. Perhaps watermark them? I know some blogs have guards in place to prevent the copy/paste.

  15. She looks beautiful! Sorry about the creeper.

  17. Good Morning, Suz,
You daughter's dress is beautiful...and I like the sunbeam in her earring too...so appropriate for her sparkling personality!

Ok...now for the creepers...I'm not sure I'd know if anyone was clicking on my photos or not? Does your widget indicate what your visitors are doing when the are on your site?? I may have to check into that...

    Have a wonderful wednesday. ~Natalie

  18. She has a million-megawatt smile. I love seeing that joy, radiating from within!
The dress is perfect for her. Superb choice!
How the heck do you know who is doing what on your blog? I wouldn't know anything other than the feejit, which says who is visiting from where...but what they are looking at? No clue! You are way smarter than I am, Suz!

    ReplyDelete
  19. Oh Crap...... Why do people do that????? Scary! I'm so sorry that this has happened to you, Suz. Your girls are just so gorgeous --and so are you... Maybe someone is just looking at beautiful women.

I just added feedjit on my blog... I'll start checking it now... SO many people visit and never comment.. Makes me wonder--although I don't have any gorgeous daughters to share.

Glad you are not letting that idiot 'win'.... Just keep checking often. Hopefully, it was just a one-time thing.

ANYHOW---Lo's dress is fantastic --and she looks like a beauty queen.. Thanks for sharing.
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  20. What a shame. I do enjoy watching the girls as they go through high school sports and activities. How awful that some jerk looks at them for different reasons.

  21. that is just plain creepy! ewwww. can you shoot me an email to tell me how you can see who has been on your blog? thanks, if you can.

lo is just a beauty but ya know the plum dont roll far from the tree... unless someone kicks it, erm, or throws it... or eats it! i love me some plums... and prunes, too, and dates, the fruit not the persons...

  22. ps

of course the sun caught your daughter's earring just perfectly, because 1.) she is a STAR and 2.) she is heaven sent and 3.) she is dazzling... she shines! need i say more? :)

  23. If you weren't so darn hot!?!?! =)
Didn't even know you could track that kind of stuff. Might need to check that out - good reminder!

Lo looked AMAZING!! Nice job picking out that beautiful dress!! And love that you worked with the sun to get that sparkle at her ears! =) =)

  24. Lo is so pretty and the dress and the touch of flowers in her hair look great.
I am sorry you are having problems. Like many others, I would not have known but I can imagine how that makes you feel.

I'm so happy Lo had a great time - these are special times for sure. Love to all.

  25. She looks absolutely stunning and I am mighty impressed with the updo you created! I cannot do updos to save my life and I too am one of those people with super straight hair who goes to the hairdressers to get it curled for special occasions! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  26. Oh my freakin' hell, she is GORGEOUS!!! That dress is stunning.

I don't ever check my stats. Now I'm torn between wanting to know what kind of weirdos are out there, to feeling like ignorance is bliss.

    ReplyDelete
  27. I'm sorry to hear about the issue you are having with someone misusing your blog, but I'm glad you have the tools to handle the situation.
Lo shouldn't worry about her dress not being colorful enough. She looks absolutely stunning.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Love that prom dress, and your daughter is gorgeous in it. Way to go catching the sun on the earring!
I haven't noticed any photo-hopping pervs, but since I have mostly scenery, horses, and oldish riders, I wouldn't expect that kind of visitor.
It is icky to think some creep was going through your pics.

    ReplyDelete
  29. She and the dress are both beautiful. I love her eyes! You did good on those!!! The dress did not need any bright color because it is a sophisticated style. Color would have detracted from the design.
I don't know how to monitor the activity on my blog either but if anybody went after my photos, we would definitely know the person had a problem - - - cuz we're old people!
I can think of many punishments to give to hackers and the pervs. It is so wrong of them to ruin hard-working people's property and make us concerned for the safety of our family.

  30. How do I find out if I have issues with this?

Umm...I wish I had the back for that dress. And the stomach. And the non-saggy-kid-rearin' boobs. A girl can dream.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Would you believe I never check? Who knows what's going on?

I thought her dress was blue--it looks like it matches her beautiful eyes.

    ReplyDelete
  32. ok so the prom dress and your daughter belong in print...absolutely gorgeous in every way. The pervert? we can't stop em. We just have to be vigilant with keeping personal info off the blog...a different perv is watching you and she and her walk through the grocery store and yet another has enjoyed the view at a nice dinner out...so...they are out there and we can't stop out lives because of them but we can be vigilant...JMO.

  33. Aw Man! What a fun post. I was in Philly yesterday and missed all this hub-bub.
And once again, I am not the Perv from OR. I'm the one from PA. But believe me, you and your girls are safe around me. You could totally walk around naked in my house and I wouldn't care at all. Except I may ask you to put down a towel before you sit. I practice safe house-keeping.
Love her dress by the way.
    Your Friend, m.

  34. That's creepy...the Oregon stalker I mean. The shot with the sparkly earring is so cool!! I haven't had any problems like that, but then you know the majority of my photos are of our dogs. If you privatize remember to include me. Even though I'm not as regular, I still love to catch up with you.

    ReplyDelete
  35. She is gorgeous and I'm no perv -- I'm just a mom.

How were you doing this monitoring? Maybe I should check into it. I'm still not sure how to monitor stats.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Does your blog have a feed? I'd like to add it to my reader. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  37. I love the dress and it shows exactly how beautiful your daughter is.

    ReplyDelete
  38. Love the photos, she is absolutely beautiful! I am so glad she had a good time... As for the creeper, EWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!!!!!

    ReplyDelete
  39. What a stunning dress for a stunning princess! She radiates and glows, BB! Oh my. I'm so proud and I'm not even her mama :-)

Perverts, yeah they ruin it for the rest of us. As long as you're careful to keep your real name and surroundings private they shouldn't be anything to worry about, really.

Just cruisers with no backbone, looking for cheap thrills.

    Disgusting :(

    ReplyDelete
  40. I just cruised through several of your posts, too, but don't worry I'm not a perv...and I promise not to click on any pics...though I must say that your daughter is gorgeous and that earring the sparkling earring serendipity is amazing.

I clicked on your from Jenny Matlock's blog, and I'm glad I did. In fact, I am going to follow.

    =)

PS. Which means that I, for one, hope you don't make the blog private.

PPS. In all seriousness, I agree with what Terra said on the subject. But I do keep a close eye on who clicks on what and why, especially with my grandkids.
