~On Slang~

I will never stop trying to 'make up' words while playing words with friends.

And this one, I am sure that I DID NOT MAKE UP!
Someone else made it up before me.

It may not be acceptable in this game, but it  is acceptable in certain circles.

You might have heard my bubble burst when I was denied my 40+ points.

  2. I guess, just like in Scrabble, proper names are not acceptable. ;-)

I was nice of you to try and put my name into your game, though. It's the thought that counts. :)

  3. OH my gosh, I started just making up words in the hopes they would work too! Sometimes it does and that's the coolest thing!

I love that you tried hobag!

  4. I think this is one of those Rebel Southern words that we Yankees have not appropriated, like "y'all" and "Mammy." Do you think that game was invented by Yanks? Or foreigners? That might be the reason they don't understand and accept your completely legitimate local jargon. Y'all need to create your own version, or maybe there is a way to choose the Rebel Southern language on the game? xoxox

  7. Funny..... I remember in the OLDEN days that we had a dictionary next to our games --and we had to 'prove' if a word was real with that dictionary... Most of the times, words that people chose were definitely words --but I didn't know them....

Too bad you didn't get your 40 points... Dang!
    Hugs,
    Betsy

  9. Suz, did you miss me? I know, I've been very naughty. But I just wanted to let you know that as hobags go, you're one of my favorites.
I hope you've been well and I'm trying to get myself back into the swing of things. Have anything to get me in the mood, hobag?

  11. Gary always wants to play me. I have to let him win so he doesn't feel bad. He plays 3 letter words too much.

  14. When I played this game, I would type in random letter combinations and sometimes get lucky with new words. That said, hobag is totally a word.
